Fantastic creatures : the Luttrell Psalter

From 1250, the fantastic creatures are spreading in medieval books. They will take an important place in the margins of manuscripts hence their names : "marginalias" or tricks. They often become a source of fun and entertainment.

The Luttrell Psalter, manuscript of the 14th century is illustrated with the most spectacular hybrids reproductions. In this manuscript the creatures take a place much more important than the caracter of "marginalias".
